Flags for Heroes

In a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who have lost their lives protecting our freedoms, the Seville Rotary Club is proud to announce the placement of over 200 flags at Veterans Memorial Park for Memorial Day. This inspiring display honors veterans and symbolizes our unwavering gratitude and respect to all military personnel past and present, their families, and especially to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

From May 14th to May 28th, Veterans Memorial Park was transformed into a sea of red, white, and blue as the flags flew through the festivities associated with the Navy Days and Memorial Day celebrations. The "Flags for Heroes" initiative, now in its second year, has seen overwhelming community support from both individual donors and corporate sponsors.

“The community response has been amazing these last two years. I think everyone who saw the over 200 flags at Veterans Memorial Park was moved. So many people wanted to support and honor the heroes in our lives last year during our first Flags for Heroes,” said Wes Hudgens, Seville Rotary Club President. “We’ve had so many requests since last year, and we are looking forward to helping honor even more community heroes next year.”

The flag display is not only a powerful visual tribute but also a meaningful contribution to local causes. This year, funds raised through the event will benefit Veteran's Memorial Park, the USO of Northwest Florida, and the Waterfront Rescue Mission Veterans Program. These organizations provide vital support and services to veterans, active-duty military members and their families living in or moving to our community.
